'Fatkini' swimsuits sell out within hours to the disappointment of thousands of eager plus-size customers

Fashion blogger Gabi Gregg's first plus-size swimwear collaboration with Swimsuits For All, which went on sale May 15, sold out within hours — to the frustration of thousands of eager fans.

Would-be customers waited up to order the swimsuits, which were only available in sizes U.S. 10 to 24, but inventory issues and an unexpected demand, has left hundreds of cancelled orders and a stream of disappointment.

One customer, Bella, vented on Miss Gregg's Instagram: 'I ordered mine 9am May 15th after waiting over a month for the release to get a call today that my order was canceled because they ran out.'

It seems that as soon as the eagerly anticipated maillots and bikinis became available, customers' credit cards were charged, order-confirmation emails from Swimsuits For All were received.

Miss Gregg, U.S. size 18 blogger of GabiFresh who last year coined the term 'fatkini' as a retaliation against society's obsession with super-slim summer bodies, designed the five-piece capsule collection to convince women to throw away their insecurities - and dare to wear a two-piece.
